Who it is for

The consultation is for newborns, children and teenagers who need a cardiology assessment because of a symptom, a heart murmur heard by the paediatrician or a known heart condition.

• A heart murmur that needs to be assessed.
• Palpitations, fainting or chest pain.
• Congenital heart disease that needs follow-up over time.

How it works

We start by discussing the reason for the visit and the child’s personal and family medical history. The assessment includes the examination and an electrocardiogram (ECG); depending on what we find, I advise whether further tests are needed.

When appropriate, an echocardiogram helps to assess the structure of the heart. At the end of the visit I explain the results and the next steps.

What to bring

Please bring previous reports, ECGs and echocardiograms, a list of medicines and any referral letter from the paediatrician. General information is on the Your first visit page.

Before booking

Let us know the child’s age and the reason for the visit, so we can arrange the appointment and any tests. You do not need a referral for a private consultation.
